The usual food porn and an Announcement.

Hello Readers!

I've been taking a lot of OOTD pictures lately, so here is one!

It's been a while since my last blog and as usual I have been stuffing my face. hahaha

Here are some of the things I've been eating!

Pork sausages from Father's Office.

Cheese and Bacon fries!

I also made another trip back to my favourite sushi place, that's some grilled salmon..

This time they even had Ootoro! Look at dat fatty tuna!

Some Korean BBQ with the boyfriend.

I also went to a trendy restaurant in Melbourne called Chin Chin (if you're japanese, my mates and I had a good laugh too) That's some pork and pancakes.

Spiced beef roti.

Salt and Pepper Squid.

Crab and Pork Cakes.

We also had some cocktails to wash it all down! So refreshing, it had plum wine, raspberry and blueberry in it.

Chin Chin's a really great place to eat if you're into that kind of Modern Asian food and like those thai/vietnamese flavours.

*********************************************

I also just had the best burger of my life! Here it is!

This is the Wagyu Burger from Rockpool with bacon, gruyere cheese and zuni pickle. I had my burger medium rare, it simply melts in your mouth and the Brioche is perfect as well! I can easily see why this is one of Melbourne's 20 iconic dishes.

I'll be eating at Flower Drum tomorrow as well and their Peking duck is also on this iconic list too so i'll let you know how it goes!

And of course....finally some Cake and Tea. :)

****************************************************

If I haven't mentioned it already, I'll be flying to Japan and China next Wednesday and I'm very excited!
My boyfriend and I have already made reservations for a couple of restaurants, so you can expect the food porn level to reach newer heights!

Internet access will be scarce but I'll try to update this blog about my holiday as much as possible so as to not SPAM you with a ton of pictures afterwards. Take care of yourselves!

Thanks for Reading.

Mother's Day & Masquerades.

Hello dearest readers,
It's been quite a while since I've written a blog so I promise lots of pictures and food!

I've even included TWO ootds just to compensate!

**********************************************************

So things have been quite eventful, lots of birthdays and things like that have been happening but i'll just let the photos do most of the talking.

No, I'm not robbing a bank....I went to a Masquerade-themed birthday party.

My friend, wallflwr probably had the best mask of the night.

I clearly love it.

My friend also made this mask himself as well!
It was a fun night, where my friends and I could dress up and have a little fun. My friends look pretty amazing if I do say so myself.

Here's a close-up of my mask, I made it out of some lace my friend gave me. I used eyelash glue to secure it to my face. LOL

My sister also had a Marvel themed dress up party that night too. She went as Angel Salvador from X-men so I spent 3 hours drawing these fake tattoos on her back and arms.

**********************************************************
Mother's Day was also this weekend. How did everyone else spends theirs?
We just had a big family dinner at a Vegetarian restaurant in Doncaster (my mum's side is vegetarian).
As a present my sister and I bought her a necklace from Swarovski.

Pretty sure it put a smile on her dial. :)

My mum really likes shiny crystals and jewels so I thought she'd love this flower necklace.

**********************************************************

This is the special seafood platter they have going on at Crown as part of a seafood event. The prawns were actually really good the scallops I didn't even bother eating. All in all a good fill for a fantastic price.

This was really nice spread made by my friend's mum, she stayed up all night cooking for us! So lovely of her.

A cheesecake from Zest 89 in Glen Waverly. Super rich! Sweet tooths would love it.

Tea and dessert, a poached pear with Vanilla Mascarpone and a Chocolate tart garnished with pistachio. The desserts were fantastic, the tart was so rich and smooth the fairy floss thing it came with was a really unique flavour. Tangy with an interesting aftertaste.

An Ebi bento and Charshu Ramen from Ramen Ya in the GPO. Let me just say Wasabi mayo is THE BOMB and the soup in the ramen is very tasty. I also really like the thickness of the noodles there too.

Finally this is Alexander's Grill on Bourke st. I forgot to take pictures of the food but this is the interior of the restaurant. It was a really last minute restaurant choice but luckily they're one of the few places that can cook a good steak. My lamb shank was bland so steer away from that but I noticed their scallops dish was popular so if you like steak and scallops, check this place out.

**********************************************************

That's all for me. Until next time!

KIMSHU + SHOES.

HI, READERS.

So today's blog is going to be a lot more fashion-ish than food-ish for once.
On friday night it was my friend, Alison's 20th birthday party. We went to Sorry Grandma's.

This is what I wore that night, the dress is from Alice in the Eve but I removed the sleeves. I paired it with something that I am VERY excited to tell you about.

This leather collar was actually made by a friend of mine. She's a budding shoe/leather accessories designer and EXTREMELY talented. The collar is handmade with real Italian sheep leather and is GORGEOUS.

Her label is called KIM SHU, I strongly suggest you check her facebook page out. You can even see the whole creation process of my collar in an album on the page.

**********************************************************

Speaking of shoes, today was by far the luckiest day I've ever had shopping wise. What started out as just "window shopping" ended up in 2 new pairs of shoes at RIDICULOUS prices.

These are my new Jeffrey Campbell Two Timers, they were $35 and my size! I could not believe it.

These velvet wedges were reduced down from $110 to 30 fucking dollars. The shoes are apparently designed by Tony Bianco, so I'm pretty happy knowing they're good quality and even more happy with the sweet sweet price.

**********************************************************

So yeah, I got unbelievably lucky today. I'm gonna go do a happy dance now.

And here's some sushi, cos it's not a Carrie blogpost unless there's food in there somewhere!

**********************************************************

Thanks for reading, It's getting cold in Melbourne now so stay warm and don't catch a cold.
