Strawberries, Rockpool, Epic Meal Time.

Hello Everyone!

It's been a long time since the last blog and I have quite a bit to write about with lots of pictures as well.

Let's start with today:

taken by Carmen Nguyen

As an early celebration for my Grandparents' birthday (They have the same birthday!) We decided to take them to Mornington for a nice day trip with fun activities and strawberry picking. Today was really delightful, it's a shame the weather was kind of cold though.

**********************************************************

We also had a walk around this kind of wetland park. It was filled with lots of random and funny signs and had giant chess and checker sets that we played games on as well.

There was also a hedge maze that we went through as well!

Whilst some of the family picked strawberries, I had tea and scones and a strawberry chocolate fondue with my parents and friend Andy. It was so great! I was looking forward to it all day.

There were also Alpacas there! They're so funny....they're so shaggy and smelly too.

**********************************************************

These past couple weeks have also been very interesting as well.

I took my parents out for their 22nd anniversary. My parents are the greatest, sticking together for over 2 decades and still very much in love. My sister and I took them out to dinner at the French/Modern Australian restaurant I went to earlier this year called 'Noir', which I blogged about here.

**********************************************************

Speaking of nice restaurants, we very belatedly celebrated my boyfriend's birthday with his family at Rockpool located inside Crown on Monday night. It was just amazing, amazing food and atmosphere.
Neil Perry is the owner of Rockpool and he's a very famous Australian chef, who you've probably seen on masterchef. He also co-ordinator of the first and business class flight menu at Qantas.

Sorry, I didn't take any pictures. The whole restaurant is quite dimly lighted and I thought it was a bit rude to be taking photos with my phone the whole time instead of eating.

I ate Alaskan crab and King prawns as an entree and had Wagyu chuck braised in red wine with potato puree as my main. Dessert was dark chocolate pudding tart with chocolate sorbet and I accompanied my meal with a nice glass of champagne. A great steak is what this place is really known for, they've got a lot of great dry aged meat.

**********************************************************

I also spent a great day celebrating my friend's birthday at his place! We went to Box Hill to have Dorayaki and had our own Epic Meal Time. You know? Like on Youtube?

THIS abomination is deep fried cider battered burgers, burger filled deep fried wontons, chicken fingers and candy bacon. We made this together and it was the fattiest thing I've ever eaten in my entire life. The deep fried burgers were actually pretty good....But I felt like the hugest fatty after eating it. Definitely a once in a life time kind of meal!

**********************************************************

I got a question on my formspring saying that I'm really fake looking and should stop wearing so much make up. I'm starting to agree though, lately I'm preferring myself without make up too. What do you guys think?

Sadly my skin isn't always that calm and it gets red a lot, so there's no way in hell i'm going out without makeup until I sort that out and I only have coloured lenses and I'm blind without them so I can't go out without them either. lol

**********************************************************

Anyway enough of this rambling. Have a nice week everyone, I'm going to be working heaps from now on!
I'll try to blog as much as possible!

Napping in a Gay's Muddy Ute.

How is everyone?
How was everyone's exams? I'm so relieved that they're over!

Mr. Panda at my last exam seemed pretty excited too. It must've been hot to do an exam in that outfit though....

**********************************************************

Today a friend and I helped out my friend, Kat move some boxes and stuff from her old house to her new house. We borrowed our friend's gay mate's ute. It was muddy and I had a nap in there as well.

Moving is quite exhausting but of course we goofed around a little as well.

This is a picture of us in her new room, the only piece of furniture at the moment is this full length mirror.

**********************************************************

After we finished moving all the boxes and sorting her closet out (she has so many nice dresses), we had ice cream at Cold rock! This was also my first time there.

Super focused on eating ice cream.

She's so cute and awkward sometimes.

I had a Forerro Rocher ice cream with crushed peanut M&M's. It was pretty good. I felt fat, i was the only one who finished their ice cream. :(

**********************************************************

Looking forward to my usual coffee/tea with my friend before work tomorrow.

**********************************************************

That's all for now! BYEBYE.

It's been the most wonderful year.

Hello all!

I'm so glad that you've decided to read this SUPER EXCITING LOVELY blog.
I honestly am extremely excited to be sharing such a wonderful part of my life~

Lately the weather in Melbourne has suddenly turned really nice, so I think it's pretty safe to say Summer has officially and FINALLY arrived!

It's perfect 'cos it's matching my mood lately as well.

**********************************************************

Basically the big news is that on the 10th of November it was our first anniversary. This was my first ever anniversary so It's a huge deal!

Unfortunately my boyfriend had work on that day and I had somehow forgotten it was even our anniversary but I was delightfully surprised by a delivery at my door.

It was a dozen roses and chocolates. Thanks mum for the photo! I don't know why she wanted to take one...But hey! I could use it for my blog.

It was the sweetest thing anyone's ever done for me, so I spent a bit of the day prancing around the house like a princess.

**********************************************************

The best part was that the surprises weren't even over! The next night (Friday night) we planned to have dinner together but I wasn't allowed to know the restaurant.

So Friday night comes and the surprise restaurant is......Vue de Monde. It's a french restaurant on the 55th floor of the Rialto Tower, you have to catch a special elevator just to get to the restaurant!

So needless to say, I was VERY surprised and happy because I was under the impression that they were fully booked for the next 2 months due to previous attempts at going.....

**********************************************************

The restaurant is gorgeous, everything is so stylish and the view was quite good too!

The food there is so unique and delicious. We decided on a 7 course meal, which to our surprise included a few things in between courses as well.

I loved this place because It's not just your normal, bring the food out and you eat it kind of thing. Everything is practically an experience. The stones and twigs on the table are rearranged according to your course, they rest your cutlery on them, they hide the salt and pepper! It was just so fun to see what was going to happen next!

Here are so photos from the Vue de Monde website of just a few of the dishes we had.

Spanner crab, avocado, lime and caviar

Pine mushrooms, walnuts, bird’s cress and cona infusion

Marron, corned beef and butter emulsion

Now this was a really cool in between dish. This was a refreshing sorbet to cleanse our palate. It involves liquid nitrogen though! There are flowers and herbs, they freeze them with the liquid nitrogen and then you crush them and then it's mixed into your sorbet. It was really sweet and refreshing!

Four petit desserts.

Our second dessert was a chocolate souffle with dark chocolate mousse and a vanilla injection, something along those lines.

**********************************************************

Probably one of the things I enjoyed most was that we opted to have a kind of tea expert, match a particular tea with every course we had. It was a brilliant idea, I LOVE TEA and it was just so lovely to try all the different teas with all their gorgeous Japanese cups and teapots. Most of the teas we had were from Taiwan but there was also Sri Lankan and Indian and Chinese teas.

**********************************************************

So here are some of my own photos, you can kind of see the view and our first Taiwanese white tea in it.

The stones from our table.

**********************************************************

That's all for now, I'm just going to end this blog by saying I'm so happy to have spent an entire year with someone so amazing and I can't believe how lucky I am.

See you next blog!
